A Mountain House man is among four individuals recently arrested in connection with the February shooting of San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Keion White. Gregory Walker, 36, of Mountain House, was taken into custody on October 9 for his alleged involvement in the incident, officials said Wednesday.
San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins stated that prosecutors will seek no bail for Walker, citing the public safety risk they say he poses. Walker was booked into San Francisco County Jail on Monday and was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday afternoon. He faces charges including assault with a semiautomatic firearm, which prosecutors allege he fired, as well as other charges related to possessing a firearm as a felon.
The shooting occurred just after 4 a.m. on February 9 at Dahlia, a crowded nightclub in San Francisco’s Mission District, where Keion White was hosting a private Super Bowl party. At the time, White sustained an ankle injury from the shooting and required surgery at a local hospital, according to his team. San Francisco Police Chief Derrick Lew said that multiple suspects with firearms “confronted” White the night of the shooting.
Law enforcement efforts led to the arrests of four men over the past week, with assistance from agencies in Atlanta, Stockton, Irvine, and Los Angeles, according to Chief Lew. Investigators utilized video footage and witness accounts to identify the alleged perpetrators.
Among the other arrests, a 36-year-old man was apprehended in Stockton on October 7 in connection with White's shooting. During this arrest, authorities recovered a loaded firearm, more than 100 oxycodone pills, and $7,000 in cash. This individual, along with another man arrested in Atlanta, is not yet in San Francisco custody but will face charges once brought to the city, District Attorney Jenkins confirmed.
The 38-year-old man arrested in Atlanta on October 7 was taken into custody on a no-bail warrant. Police reportedly seized an illegal firearm during this arrest, along with thousands of grams of MDMA, methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl found at his home.
Another individual, 35-year-old Curtis Green, was arrested on October 7 in Irvine, California. Green faces misdemeanor charges of brandishing a firearm and carrying a concealed and loaded gun in public, according to District Attorney Jenkins.
A message was left Wednesday with the San Francisco public defender's office to determine if its attorneys were representing the two men in local custody.
