The Boys & Girls Clubs of Tracy hosted its Tracy’s Got Talent Gala on Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Richard O. Hastie Clubhouse on Lowell Avenue. The inspiring evening brought together 250 guests for a program that showcased local performers, honored outstanding supporters of youth, and celebrated the community’s ongoing commitment to helping young people reach their full potential. Dr. Andrew Trosien served as the emcee for the evening's festivities.
The gala featured an impressive lineup of youth performers from various Boys & Girls Club of Tracy sites, who entertained the audience with a diverse range of talents. A panel of distinguished judges evaluated the performances, including Irecel Manalo, Branch Manager for Bank of Stockton; Hector John, an entrepreneur and local celebrity; and Renee Henson, who is the incoming Boys & Girls Clubs of Tracy Board Chair and Senior Vice President of Kohl’s.
The talent competition concluded with Adrian Lupian, representing the Traina Boys & Girls Club, earning first place for his dynamic Michael Jackson performance, which captivated the audience. Lupian also received the People’s Choice Award, garnering additional recognition from attendees for his outstanding showing. Second place was awarded to Ballet Folklorico Janitzo, who brought color, tradition, and incredible energy to the stage. These talented dancers proudly represented Louis A. Bohn Elementary School and Tracy Unified School District. Josiah Pinos secured third place with his rendition of “Tetris” on the keyboard, representing the Delta Charter Club and New Jerusalem School District. Other youth performers at the gala included the Dent All Stars, Carlos Escobar from Kimball High, and the West High Air Force JROTC rifle team.
In addition to celebrating local talent, the gala recognized two exceptional champions whose dedication and generosity have made a lasting impact on the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tracy and the young people it serves. Dorlane Thrasher was honored with the Champion of Youth Award in recognition of her extraordinary commitment to the organization. As a founding board member, Thrasher has dedicated more than 40 years of service to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tracy, helping advance its mission and strengthen its impact in the community.
DPR Construction received the Corporate Champion of Youth Award for its commitment to improving the Richard O. Hastie Clubhouse. Through several construction projects, DPR Construction has helped upgrade and enhance the facility, contributing to a better environment for the youth who depend on the Club for opportunities, support, and a place to belong. The Tracy’s Got Talent Gala highlighted the powerful role that community partnerships, dedicated volunteers, and local supporters play in creating opportunities for young people. By bringing together performers, families, business leaders, and community advocates, the event celebrated not only the talents of local individuals but also the collective commitment to investing in the next generation. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Tracy extended its sincere gratitude to everyone who attended, performed, volunteered, and supported this year’s gala, recognizing the individuals and businesses who continue to champion youth and help create a brighter future for Tracy’s young people.
